Big Pitch
Me and my partner have two ideas of a pitch for our new film. The first pitch is “A killer is on the rise in the streets of Fort Lauderdale but doesnt know when he will met his fate.” The second pitch is “ kids go out to shoot baskets and play some ball but doesn’t know he might be the next to get shot at.” This pitch is about 21 words and is nice and easy to soak into. The movie is about a killer so the second pitch looks like the side our team is going to lean more on because, we're not revealing too much information about the movie. The pitch has to be an attention grabber but doesn't reveal too much about the film at the same time. Ultimately, the second choice is the one our team probably going to choose. The pitch unveils the reality of a society that is hard for young kids to make it out of. With the influences around them, everywhere they go gives the scent of a life or death situation in which 4/10 times will end in death and life harming catastrophe. The pitch brings into question will these kids survive or be another product of their environment. The whole world wants to see how this will unfold. The other pitch brings the audience to the killer’s point of view in which his story is being presented. Factors that may lead to the valuable reason why he wants to kill so many innocent people. Is it because of hate or Psychological reasons? How long will he continue this rampage of destruction? Will he met his fate at the most valuable time of need? All of these questions come to mind when reading this pitch and bring a mysterious theme to the film.
