David's Gatorade Commercial Filming Shoot (Day 1)
On Thursday September 30th, me and my partner Quincy starting filming our commercial for Gatorade at school. When we got to our media studies class we gathered our materials and storyboard to formulate how the shoot was going to play out. Once we decided what we were going to do, we went to Mrs. marchionne to receive a pass to leave class and go to the selected location we chose to film at on campus. The location we chose was the school track and field which was a 2 minute walk away from the classroom. Once we left the classroom with the pass, Quincy went to go change into his costume/ apparel and I started preparing my camera for the shots I was going to take. After, we started making our way towards the track and field to begin filming sections of the commercial for Gatorade. The forecast outside on this day Extremely sunny with little clouds which was pretty good for the light in the shoot. When we stepped on track, we greeted our classmates that were filming as well and got to our spot on the track to setup. Once we got settled, I told Quincy to get in his track stance so I could take a couple pictures from different angles for the beginning of the commercial. The shots that were taken was a high angle, low angle, shoulder level, and Overhead. After those pictures, I told Quincy to switch his stance into a set position so I could take pictures of him in that stance and record him taking off. The video took us a couple of minutes to get down because of the clouds covering the sun and ruining the light in the video but, eventually we were able to finish them. After this I continue to take videos of Quincy's take off into a full stride for the beginning of the film. Once finalized, Quincy went into the garage and got the hurdles for our next scene which involves him jumping over them while being in full stride. When we got the hurdles in the right position, I had to wait a few minutes to film it because my friend Quincy hasn't jumped over hurdles in over a year so it took a minute for him to adjust to the activity but, eventually he got comfortable again to do it consistently. Once he got comfortable we took a couple videos from different angles of him jumping over the hurdles. Immediately after this, we worked on the finish which involved him jogging and exaggerating a finish a if he was tired to present the need for the Gatorade beverage after. Unfortunately we didn't have a bottle of Gatorade at the time of filming, so we decided to film that scene the next time we go film which is on Monday October 4. Lastly when we were done filming me and Quincy gathered up to decipher from the options of videos and pictures to apply in the commercial and we did a very good job and I'm happy everything went well with no errors. After this, we gathered up our props and went back to class to get ready for our next period to finalize a great day of filming.
