In most music videos, the lyrics are represented by performers, objects, or items in various scenes. The purpose of music videos is to bring the lyrics to life in a visual way. Bow wow's music videos use visual representations and close-ups to demonstrate his heart and love for basketball and aid his lyrics.  Every music video uses a variety of camera Shots, Angles, and Movements to create different moods, reflect different genres, and emphasize different aspects of the video. Each director and/or cinematographer develops his or her own distinctive style, in this music video he went to show an ascetic video of basketball.   In music videos, a range of shots is utilized for a variety of objectives, including communicating to the audience through expressing thoughts and feelings and telling the spectator what is going on. The camera pans to show the artist's performance or to follow the artist. Lighting, props, wardrobe, video clips, and of course basketballs are used in Bo...

The group

Image
For my group, it contains me, Quincy Esta, and David Leconte. I and David are good friends and we meant during our freshman year. David is a part of our football team and he plays DB. He is black African-American and is 6’1. He is a very hard-working person but slacks off occasionally. Since we have multiple classes together we already get along and communicate well. Since I run track and he plays football we decided to do a commercial based on athletics. This is extremely convenient for us both because m, we can make and create a great commercial for people. Even though the group is it just me and David I believe that we would be able to get our work and create an outstanding project. To give more insight on the group I’ll explain what we have in common and differences. The similarities that we have we both strive to get the Cambridge diploma. We are both student-athletes and have the same type of music taste. For some differences, we don’t enjoy the same type of TV genre. I like to W...

Its me again

Image
Hello, my name is David Leconte Jr and I am an 11th grader who attends Ft. Lauderdale Highschool. My birthday is on the 29th of September which means that I'm a Libra. One of the reasons why I chose to take media studies is because I'm a very imaginary person and whenever I play a video game or watch a music video, I just wonder what happens behind the scenes to make these things come to life. As you can see from the previous sentence, you can tell that I love playing video games as a hobby. Also, I love fashion and sports because I'm a student-athlete. I've been playing sports and have been around sports my whole life which brings forth my love of playing it to be more enthusiastic than the average person. I was born in Miami, Florida at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the year 2004. I grew up in Miami for 14 years of my life and then made the transition to Ft. Lauderdale when I was 15. Making that move for me was tough because I didn't know what to expect, meeting ...

CCR Reflection

Image
Name: _David Leconte Jr_______________________ Creative Critical Reflection How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?   My Gatorade product uses conventions to hydrate and refuel Athletes and individuals who are actively working out or performing high-energy activities so they can reach that next level. I don't think my product is in that category for being involved in social groups. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?  My product will influence people to want to drink it to be refuelled and re-energized which will make them 120% more harder while they’re doing tiring activities. This will be distributed through ad’s, billboards, posters, blimps, etc. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?  This project really just made me have to think out of the box and be creative in the way I wanted it to be. I knew that doin...

Gatorade Commercial

This is my commercial for Gatorade that me and my partner have been working on for the past month. This project took lots of time to think about and put together because at first we didn't know how we wanted to illustrate it. We wanted to present two scenes which includes a gym workout setting and a track and field setting. Unfornately, we couldn't film in the gym due to trademark and copyright issues so we just decided to film it on the track. The goal of this commercial is to show how Gatorade's electrolytes helps athletes refuel when their tired and advance them to that next drive like a brand-new Ferrari sports car. Electrolytes are minerals found in your blood that help regulate and control the fluids in the body. The filming process for this commercial was great with the headshots and angles that were taken to make it. The scene includes a track sprinter running full-speed in practice ad jumping over a hurdle. At the end, when the sprinter is done running, he picked u...
